It’s broken somewhat. Near summer and inspection time she always decides to have a temper tantrum. Especially this one:

Anything unusual besides the previous owners shitty rotors? Yup it’s that goop coated monstrosity hydraulic self leveling strut. There’s a gradual leak of hydraulic fluid coming from strut seal. With BMW’s infinite wisdom on the E38, removal of the strut includes sacrificing a BMW 700 and singing hyms praising the coming of Efficient Dynamics. Besides that the abs sensor replacement didn’t work, so now I need a reman abs computer. Also don’t get Febi aftermarket transmission filters, they’ll collapse and make the transmission whine a bit. It will have to suck it up for finals week before I can spend some time tearing into this.

Those are also the original brake hoses, which probably should have been replaced by now.
